Road Traffic Accident Assistance

If you have been injured or suffered damage resulting in financial loss due to a road traffic accident; either as a motorist, passenger, cyclist, motorcyclist or pedestrian and it was not your fault
we can help.

Your Rights and Entitlements

People are often confused about their rights following a road traffic accident and in particular whether they need to claim on their own policy for the costs of repairs to their car, van, bicycle or motorbike and what they can do about a proper replacement vehicle while waiting for their car to be repaired or a settlement cheque which can take weeks.

Simply, if there is an 'at fault' third party involved in the collision there may be no need to claim on your own motor policy at all.

Depending on the circumstances, strength of the evidence i.e. witnesses/cctv or a formal 'admission of liability' by the other party you won't need to pay an excess or prejudice your no claims bonus or pay for the hire of a like for like replacement car.

What's my claim worth?

It is difficult to advise on the value of personal injury claims at an early stage.

Many factors must be taken into account and contrary to what some may say, it is not simply a matter of referring to a tariff in a book. Age, health, earning potential, impact of injuries and rehabilitation timeframes all affect the final payout.

Not only does the value of the claim for the injury vary, but also the claim for financial loss would for example, be greatly increased if you were subsequently unable to resume work or lost employment.

The different heads of claim for financial loss are too numerous to list. The legal calculation of the value of a personal injury claim now occupies an area of legal activity in its own right.

In practice there is no substitution for experience. It is our belief that well honed negotiation skills and sound judgement is more likely with specialisation.
